The International Fischer Symposium (IFS) is a conference gathering 100 to 120 attendees in a friendly atmosphere every 3 years. Since its early editions in Karlsruhe, under the auspices of Prof. W. Lorenz, and then in Munich, under the auspices of Prof. U. Stimming, the IFS has traditionally been the place where the relations between electrochemistry and other fields of science are discussed and interdisciplinary approaches are developed.
